IMPORTANT NOTICE!

Unfortunately, people do not realize it now but, they may end up paying more than what we charge by going to these low-rate driving schools. Almost 20% of our students come from these schools after having failed their road test, with this number growing every year.

These students have paid nearly $300-$400 for taking the driving course with them and are now required to pay more because their training was not sufficient. Last year we decided to do a survey with students who went to a cheaper driving school before they joined Tomorrow’s Drivers.

Here’s what we found. The most common complaint is that they did not learn the necessary skills required to a) pass their road test, and b) be confident enough to drive on their own. We found that other schools are running “stadium-sized classrooms” of up to 60-70 students in one classroom per instructor. This exceeds the maximum of 40 students per instructor as stated by the Ministry of Transportation. Here at Tomorrow’s Drivers, we only allow up to 24 students per in-class instructor, which allows for personalized training. Another interesting thing we learned was that the other schools are allowing multiple students in the car per lesson. Tammy, a former student of a low-rate driving school said “it was the most uncomfortable thing… I felt nervous as it was learning driving for the first time and having people in the back was really a distraction during those lessons.” It was a good thing that Tammy joined our school and enjoyed the one-on-one lessons with her friendly instructor.

Let’s do some math. The industry standard for an individual lesson in an automatic car is nearly $30-$40. Now the Ministry of Transportation requires that the student complete 25 hours of in-class instruction as well as 10 hours of in-car instruction in order to be eligible for the driving certificate. So you have to ask yourself, if these schools are charging $300-$400, how are they able to get the students the complete 35 hours of training. Either the instructors are being underpaid, which would directly impact the quality of training the students receive, or the students are being told that they are not required to complete the in-class training. There could be other possibilities as well, but were sure you get the point.

We have watched the driving school industry grow over the years and have spent long hours into compiling our prices. There is a lot more to consider when selecting the right driving school than to just base your decision on price alone. The quality of service is very important as well. Our instructors do not only bring up to 30 years of driving experience, but also bring great communication skills as well. We hope this message will help you in selecting the right driving school for you or your loved ones. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more info.
